ROANOKE, Va. — Antonio Hash emerged victorious in the Democratic primary for Roanoke City Sheriff, earning the party’s nomination with 54% of the vote.
The position became open after former Sheriff Tim Allen retired early last year. Since then, David Bell has been serving as acting sheriff but opted not to run for the role.
Hash, who currently works as a school resource officer, brings over a decade of experience to the table, having served with the Roanoke City Sheriff's Office for 13 years. He now moves forward as the Democratic candidate in the race for sheriff, which will be decided in the upcoming general election.
