Sheriff Hash Renews Senior Safety Initiative to Combat Scams in Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. — Roanoke City Sheriff Antonio Hash has renewed the Triad Program, a statewide initiative aimed at protecting seniors from scams and fraud.

Joined by Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares and local law enforcement, Sheriff Hash signed a new charter during a ceremony at the Eureka Recreation Center, reaffirming the city's commitment to senior safety.

“Seniors need us,” Hash said, highlighting the program’s focus on education and prevention. The Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office will now host monthly Triad meetings across local recreation centers, covering topics like scam awareness and consumer protection.

Roanoke is one of over 200 Virginia communities participating in the Triad Program, building stronger partnerships to keep older residents informed and secure.
